Adopted from South Korea, John spent his early childhood in the western suburbs of Illinois. During his teenage years, after relocating to Wisconsin, he became deeply interested in culinary shows and literature. His grandparents served as a significant source of inspiration for him. As a young teen, he worked as a fry cook at Culvers in Grafton, Wisconsin. Soon after he joined the U.S. Army and lived in Alaska. In 2016, John returned to Wisconsin and has since led teams at various establishments, including Bibingers, Timmers resort, Pizza Man, and Coco's Seafood & Steakhouse. He has gained recognition as a chef in the expanding culinary scene. In 2024, John and wife Crystal decided to launch their own restaurant concept, focusing on an elevated dining experience with small plates. In his leisure time, John loves spending time with his three dogs, Blue Buddy, and Bruno. You can also find him at a local pub called Henry's or working offsite events during his days off.
Crystal, a true Milwaukee native, has always held a special affection for both the city and the state of Wisconsin. Her professional journey has largely been dedicated to serving as a Manager in various retail outlets.
